STUART THOMPSON originally from Bedford, Indiana received a Master's of Music in Vocal Performance from DePaul University in Chicago, Illinois. While at DePaul, Thompson appeared with DePaul Opera Theatre playing the roles of The Father in Humperdinck's Hansel and Gretel conducted by Eric Weimer, Orfeo in Monteverdi's L'Orfeo conducted by Josephine Lee, #7 in Conrad Susa's Transformations also conducted by Josephine Lee, and Marco in Puccini's Gianni Schicchi conducted by William Lacey. He also sang the role of Schlendrian in Bach's Koffee Kantate accompanied by DePaul's University Singers and the Baroque Ensemble under the preparation of Roger Goodman and direction of Clayton Parr.

During his time at DePaul University, Thompson studied with Baritone David Smalley, and Bass-Baritone Marc Embree, and coached with Kit Bridges, and Linda Hirt. Other coaching and role preparation was with Collaborative Works of Chicago, with coaches Nicholas Hutchinson, Shannon McGinnis, and Jerad Mosbey.

Since his time at DePaul, Thompson has been an Apprentice Artist with Sarasota Opera,  a member of the Mary Ragland Young Artist Program at Nashville Opera, and has sung extensively throughout Chicagoland with Verismo Opera Theater, American Chamber Opera, RedMoon Theater, Katydid Productions, Elgin Opera, and Opera Inter Alia. Thompson has sung in Italy and throughout the midwest.  Thompson toured throughout Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, and Minnesota with Opera For The Young, as the Sea King in their production of Rusalka: a Mermaid's Tale. Thompson  maintains an active studio of voice and piano students in Chicago, Illinois.

Thompson received his Bachelor of Arts Degree from Butler University in Indianapolis, Indiana in 2007. While living in Indianapolis, Thompson was contracted with the Indianapolis Opera Company on four of the main-stage productions, and was often in demand within the church musician circuit of Indianapolis. Thompson also sang several concerts for benefactors and donors of Butler University.

Thompson has sung for two former presidents and two sitting state governors, and has sung in five countries, and on three continents.  He has performed on masterclasses and vocal clinics with Lawrence Brownlee, Christine Brewer, Martin Katz, Craig Rutenberg, Philip Morehead, Guilio Favario, Tatyana Torshevska, Solange Sior,  Julia Bentley, Edward Crafts, Heather Crafts, Kathryn Hartgrove, Scott Skiba and Jane Bunnell, and attended masterclasses and lectures with Mark Delavan, Renee Fleming, Robert Orth, Jennifer Larmore, Christopher Feigum, and Roger Pines.

Along with singing, Thompson is an accomplished Ballroom Dancer. The son of Kat’s Performing Arts studio owner/operator Kathy Thompson, Stuart has been an active dancer through the years in many styles of dance including Ballet, Tap and Jazz, and has vast experience in teaching and performing in Swing Dancing and other Ballroom styles. Thompson has been seen dancing on Fox News in the Morning, and has danced on stages around the world, many of which he has also sung upon.
